I love the versatility of the library, as well as the depth and intimate detail of each patch. There are many types of instruments here, such as orchestral, pianos, drums. But expect independent plugin designers too. Our listing of free Kontakt instruments comprises the best patches and libraries from big developers. The JADE Orchestra is one of my favorites and is a staple in my project templates. Kontakt is capable of anything related to sampling, from sample playback to complex virtual instruments and sound modules.

We have spent the best part of five years working on this project and have left no stone unturned to create a product that, as a multisampled String Orchestra alone, will satisfy even the most demanding users. Nucleus is an orchestral software instrument made for Kontakt Player, that covers the full orchestral range of instruments with strings, brass, woodwinds, percussion, and choirs under one roof. Versilian Studios Chamber Orchestra 2 is the antithesis of this movement. Great effort is put in by these companies to record and process their samples so they have that fabled 'Hollywood' sound, then name-drop everything just to sell their product on the status of the people and things used, rather than the merit of their work. Sonatina Symphony Orchestra for Kontakt is another Kontakt library project based on public domain samples. There are over 1,500 samples in this library totaling more than 1.5GB, but due to KontaktвЂ™s lossless compression, the size goes less than 500MB. Decades of sampling has been centered around the desire to use only the 'best' materials- the 'best' musicians, the 'best' microphones, the 'best' spaces (just read the marketing materials long enough and you'll go cross-eyed at all the superlatives). It was the first to offer such a library exclusively for the Kontakt format.
